I've read the name in a few of my romance novels and I fell in love with it. I was even considering it for my future son's name (the one I'm having in 5-7 years). I know it's Irish or Celtic like Nanaea said, but I read somewhere it meant "Hero". Kind of a nice name to be born with.

For another meaning, a reference source I have on Celtic names says that "Conlan" may come from the Celtic word "connlan", meaning "endeavor".
