Now a days almost anything seems to pop up as a name! But Ness is a better one, but I would consider it more of a nick name then a true first name!

I agree that Ness reminds me of the Lock Ness Monster. Also, you will probably get a lot of people who assume your baby's name is Tess or Bess .

I believe "Ness" is the short form for Vanessa . I have also heard people call their little girl Nessa . If you like Ness, but are unsure, do you like the sound of Bess ?
