Re: Please help with unusual boy name
Hey Pre-nup,Funny you should mention the Wizzys. Actually the name IS Wizzygoth (okay, Visigoth, so technically Germanic), and was originally "Alarikhs" in Goth. The "-rikhs" part, as in Theudurikhs (Theodoric) and my own Jettarikhs (confuses his "v"s and "w"s...), means "king" (Latin cognate=rex).Big Al sacked a number of places in his day, including Buddy Love's own Piraeus, Corinth, and Sparta. Also some places in other countries, where the people didn't so readily capitulate and run away shrieking....Don't know how you get around the "Al" part, mah frens. Kids and people (two distinct species) will pick the lowest common denominator when it comes to shortening names, so think worst-case and if you can live with that option, take yer chances. Good luck!

"...other countries, where the people didn't so readily capitulate and run away shrieking..."Oh the shame of it! (PriaposLovs, embarassed, wears a paper bag on his head)
