As Roy found for you, the name Littleproud can be traced back to the county of Norfolk in England. In fact, according to Hanks & Hodges, this name was most strongly concentrated in the parish of Attleborough in Norfolk before the Industrial Revolution.

The name is an "unflattering nickname for a person considered to be of slight worth, from Middle English littel (meaning small) + Middle English, Old French prod (meaning valiant, gallant)."
