I wonder if the person who told you your name might be "gorian" happens to be a fan (oy vey...) of the notorious John Norman's Gor novels? John Norman (not his real name) is a casual acquaintance of mine, and there is a character named "Telena" who figures prominently in his novels -- the daughter of the chief warlord of Gor. But this Telena's name is spelled differently from your own name of "Telina".Well, Telina, if you should happen to be on Long Island March 30th through April 1st of this year, you could always come to I-Con and ask Dr. Norman, youself. He's an annual guest at that con:http://www.iconsf.org/-- Nanaea

This is so weird, but I was playing on the internet and decided to look up my name to see what I could find. I have never met anyone else
by my name and wondered what was out there. I was born in 1980 and my mother was a big Gor fan at the time. People always ask me
where my name comes from and what it means. I wish I knew more about my name other than it was derived from a book. I would like to
know why that particular name was used and where you got it. It is a beautiful name and I love the reaction people have to it. Thank-you for reading
this message. Sincerely, Telena.

I was told by my mother that the name is American Indian and means "good dawn". My mother was a flower child and that is how I explain the name, because I have no Indian in me.
It is a very unique name and I hated it growing up but now am glad I have a different name.
Have a good day
Telina

on a whim I put my name into a search and eventually ended up here. I have never come across anyone else with my name or spelling. my mother told me that the name Telena was derived from Telaka, which meant "twilight". I believe she said Telaka was an indian name. I have no clue what indian tribe or anything. I was born in 1966 and by chance ran into a gentleman in florida (20 years ago)whose wife was named Telina. From the internet, I have found Telena to be a name use for telecommunications companies. who would have guessed?

The only female gorian names I know offhand are "Tipper" and "Corinna". However, your name IS a town on the coast of Queensland, Australia and also means "celery" and "fallow land" in Romanian.I've seen evidence of its use as a female name in Australia (from the place?) but not as a name in Romania or elsewhere. Sorry.
