Meaning of "Ava" and name suggestions

Just a quick question as to the meaning of the name Ava. It syas here in the databse that it either means "water" in Persian of is a form of Eve, but I have also heard it means "Bird" in German. If anyone could post some information about this I would greatly appreciate it. Also I am considering this name for a future daughter and if anyone has any suggestions as to what a good middle name would be for the name Ava (only stipulation being it doesn't end in another "a"-to avoid rhyming), I would really appreciate them!

Try to pick something smooth and short. Also make sure that together it doesnt mean something bad- and has good initials. Maybe:
Ava Rose (I know someone with that name)
I don't know maybe a family tie? Just don't do: Ava Eve or Ava Eden- that would make the meaning sound very odd

We have a long last name, and chose Ava Grace... we get a lot of positive comments on it from others.
