I was told by an English Professor of mine that the name, Derith is an old English name, meaning "One in solitude". I was also told that it came from and old Welsh fairy tale, so your guess is as good as mine.
There are a few of us around. I've met 4 others in my life - we're a small but mighty group!

I've met one too, only it was spelled Dareth. She lived in Santa Cruz, California and would be about (oh my .. I can't believe this!) 20 now. I can't remember exactly what her mom told me the origin was, but the Welsh fairy tale thing rings a bell.
