the name
It's a Greek/hebrew name. It's for females, and in Greek it means heroine, while in Hebrew it means he heard. It's pronounced He-men-a. Just wanted to clear that up for everyone! Any other Ximena's out there? I'd love to hear from you! I don't see it as odd or weird, I see it as unique!

I've never met anyone actually named Ximena before. I think I might have seen it on a list of recent birth announcements but I'm not sure. Surprisingly, it ranked as number 514 on the most popular girls' names list in the U.S (in 2003). I'm guessing that it's much more popular among Hispanic communities.http://www.behindthename.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?terms=Ximena&popterm=&gender=both&extra=p
