Name explanation unclear.
Hi My name is Donovan. I recently visited your site in search for the meaning of my name.
I only found " From the Irish surname Ó Donnabhain, which means "descendent of Donndubhán". The first name Donndubhán is composed of the Gaelic element donn "brown" combined with dubh "dark" and a diminutive suffix."Can you perhaps explain "dark brown" .Great thanksDonovan Smith

"Dark brown", in this case, could've referred to anything from eye colour, hair colour, skin colour, the clothes colour the person favoured, or even the person's dark personality. Many people think the most common reference is to eye, hair, or skin colour.MirandaEDIT: Typo
