the name Cloyce
hello, i have also been cursed or blessed with the name Cloyce. Looking in etymology books for names, i have only found the name Cloyce one time . This was in a dusty leather-bound book of name origins in Detroit at the public library on Woodward ave. The origin was stated as middle english which i believe was a period when the French occupied some of the United Kingdom. Its meaning was given as simply "to destroy" which kind of floored me. Nevertheless, i was happy to find it in at least one of the books i have searched in.

Sounds to me like it could be something in the Lodovick area: forms include Ludowick, Clodwig, Clovis, Lewis...
