Yep, it is Latin. "Silva" means woods or forest in Latin. So "Sylvan", I assume, is the American adjectivization of that word.

I agree, but you never really create just ONE word around here. By the time the Anagram Smurfs get done with it, you've fostered half a dozen words or more from that simple act of creation.
