Therefore, Beersheba looks to be a place name. Its spelling in Slavonic/Russian is Virsavia indeed, following the new Greek pronunciation.

Both the place and the woman are named Virsaviya in the Russian bible. I looked it up in an onlie Russian version on http://www.maranatha.org.ua/bible/index.php?book=-3&search=%E2%E8%F0%F1%E0%E2%E8%FF&Submit=%CD%E0%E9%F2%E8
