Subject: Mairtín pronunciation question

I looked up the pronunciation of Mairtín (the Irish form of Martin) on Name Nerds, and it said it was pronounced MAR-steen. I know that Irish is quite different from English, but I'm still confused as to why the S sound would be there. Could it just be a typo?
