Re: Meaning of "Abida" and "Albygence"
in reply to a message by Diane
Hi! I'm not an expert, but I have found a meaning for Abida.
Abi'da (father of knowledge, knowing), the fourth of the five sons of Midian, the son of Abraham by Keturah (Gen. 25:4; I Chron. 1:33).

There is a town in France called Albegensia (SP???). It may be related to the name as they sound similar. It was famous in history because a crusade was launched against it.
