Hi, this is my name - with the same spelling. I don't know what pronounciation you're going for but mine is pronounced the same as 'Liselle'. As a child I didn't like my name because it was so uncommon but as I got older, I came to loved it for that very reason. Occasionally I get people who turn the 's' to a 'z' or say 'Lyzel' or 'Lee-sel' but it's all good!

I like Liesel/Liesl/Lisl a lot! I know a woman named Liesel who pronounces it like Lisa with an "l" on the end--her mom saw "the Sound of Music" one too many times!Leisel looks a little funny, and would be pronounced like Ly-zel in German, though. Liesl et. al. is an Austrian nickname for -lise names (Elisabeth, Anneliese etc.)

We're not talking about the German name "Liesel", are we (rhymes w/ weasel and diesel)? If so, a spelling adjustment is in order.

this is my name and in high school i always got weazel, which was a drag. it's pretty pronounced liesel like lisa with an l, but like diesel with a z sound in the middle it's nasty. i think if you're going to name a kid you should be careful to name them a name that noone can make fun of-they'll thank you for it! (my bro got jonathan)

I think it's great, but better spelt the German way, Liesl/Liesel.
