Sinead is an Irish Gaelic name, roughly translated as Jane.
A famous Sinead is Sinead O'Connor, the singer who (if I recall correctly) created quite a stir on Saturday Night Live when she tore apart the photograph of the Pope (if anybody recalls this insident or remembers what I'm thinking of, please correct me if I'm wrong.)
