There was a woman with the name Nelsa at the store today. I had never heard of it or seen the name before. Does anyone know the exact meaning and origin? She looked like she was probably hispanic and I typed in the name and other people named Nelsa came up on the search engine. Some had Spanish last names. I'm guess that it might be a variant/combination of Elsa and/or Nella, kind of like how Nancy can be a pet form of Ann. Or maybe it's a feminine form of Nels? Anyone know for sure?
