Charis should be pronounced "HAH-rees", the 'hah' being a bit like the sound in 'up', and the 'r' being rolled. The 'h' is one of those back-of-the-throat sounds (not like the soft 'h' in 'hello', it's deeper and more difficult to pronounce if you didn't grow up using it).The most correct spelling would be Haris, I think. Like the singer Haris Alexiou.Hope this helps. :)
