Re: Etymology of Hank --> from Henry or John?
Hi Lucille, the name Hank is short for the Frisian and Low German name Hanke which is a pet form of the name Jo_HAN_nes (the most common form of the name John in Europe). The suffix -ke is a Frisian diminutive suffix.Regards, Satu
