SempleSemple is a surname, either English or French. The English is a patryonimic derived from the surname SIMPLE, meaning 'honest, free of guile.' The French is a toponymic, meaning 'someone from St.Paul;' St. Paul is the name of several places in France. HTH. :o)~Rebecca

Hi Lissa,I don't know anything about Semple :-( but Orton is an English form of Horton which is short for Hortensius, a Latin name meaning "from the garden" or "gardener".Regards, Satu
