Interesting... What makes a name "real"? Opinions, anyone?
in reply to a message by Kyt
I would say that any name which is legally borne by another is a "real name". It may be a recently invented and unique name, but that doesn't make it any less "real" to the person who bears the name and is publicly known by it.Have you actually encountered someone named "Eliette"?-- Nanaea

My opinion is that all names that have been at one time "common" once were invented by somebody somewhere.Heck, the original question ("Is this a real name?") brought back memories of (*shiver*) Elaine and her blasting that one poor woman about naming one of her children Six. *reaches for the hand soap to wash my hands (like washing the mouth out for using "innapropriate" language)*Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

Elaine's memory lives on!And, if anyone should ever ask "Just who *is* this Elaine chick they keep talking about?", y'all can click on the "Archives" link and check out the postings for April of 2001.Don't forget to take the "WHAT IS ELAINE'S PROBLEM?" quiz down near the bottom of the page! :)-- Nanaea

LOL....Somehow I couldn't read all her wonderful advice, as my eyes went blurry after about the first five lines. Perhaps I should see an optician?

Though i must admit i really hate it when Parents give their children really weird names i wouldnt be quite so over the top in expressing my opinion :P
