I have a weird name, do you know what it means?

Can you help me? My parents named my after my cousin Dasha...they have always told me its African, but I've never been able to come up with anything on it. Ever since I was a little girl I've wondered about this.

Hi Dashia,

I found an African name (Swahili) "Dashika" which means "shirt" and a Russian name "Dasha" which is a Russian pet form of "Dorothea"

Our surname was angalized from the Czech name Hruska.
In the Czech language the name means the fruit pear;
Pear trees were introduced into central Europe about
12th century.
In the Polish, Ukraine, Russian language the usual
spelling is Gruszka.
