my first name------JANEESSE
I would like the meaning and the origin of my first name. I think that it is Hebrew but I really don't know. It is really unique and I have not found any information as to the origin or meaning to the name. Could you please find out whatever info you can

I've yet to see any Hebrew name transliterated quite that way, Janeese.Perhaps your name is an alternate spelling of "Janice" or "Janiece", in which case it would have been derived from "Jane" which is a feminine form of the original Hebrew name of "Yochanan", meaning "God is gracious".-- Nanaea

Thanks Nanaea, I think your right . I did a little in depth study of the name and it is pronounced
Jan --esse.Jane is derived from John in the feminine form
and the esse is from the Latin to mean existance.
This is indicative of many lands of people example--Vietnem--ese
Chin--ese
Japan-eseMy fathers name was John and probably being born a girl they perhaps gave me the feminine form
of the name to keep it in the family. I have a long line of John's in the family---greatgrandfather---
grandfather---father--brother---nephews.
