Maïté is a French respellization of the Basque Maite. The dyeresis indicates that AI are in two syllables and the accent over the E is to indicate that the E is not mute. Maïté is pronounced [mai'te].

The Basque Maite and the Spanish Maite (contraction of María Teresa) both are pronounced ['mayte].
