Hi Dagmara,

Your name is a variant of Dagmar, which is a Scandinavian (Danish) variant of the Slavic name Dragomira (female version of Dragomir meaning "precious, dear" + "peace").

It came to Scandinavia via the Vendish form 'Dargmara' which was regarded to be built by the Old Danish words 'dag' = "day" + 'mar' = "virgin, maiden".

The Danish pronunciation of Dagmar is DOW-mar ('mar' like 'mark' without a k).

Regards, Satu
