In the mid 1200's, Pierre from Moralis, France, aka Pierre De Morlais, lived in England, working as an aide to the king,* He was also known as "Petrus Morley, alias Perkin"**

To this writer, Pierre's son was the first known user of the surname "Perkins."* There are many spellings of the surname. They include: Parkins, Perkyns, Parkyns, Parkens, Perkin, and Perkyn. **

*Some information taken fron genealogy research on the Perkins surname.
** THE PERKINS FAMILY IN YE OLDEN TIMES by Mansfield Parkyns, Esq. 1916 (out of print)
