Subject: If you can find out what the kanji is for the name, it'll be a bit easier to find out what it is.

Knowing both the kanji and the pronounciation will give you exactly what the name means since the kanji "alphabet" is really the symbols for different words which the hiragana (one of the syllabic alphabets) dictates which meaning the kanji gets in that particular circumstance.
