What is the pronunciation of...

Lysander? I've been pronouncing it lie-ZAN-der. (Lie rhymes with eye.) Is this correct? Thanks very much!

It's a Greek name, I like the name very much.In Europe it's pronounced Lee-sahn-der.

In the song "The British Grenadiers" - which is where I've heard it most often - it's lie-SAN-der. Close enough to lie-ZAN-der, but it's definitely an 's' not a 'z' to my ear.
