Re: Amadou
in reply to a message by lk
Amador, a Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Occitan... name, comes from the Latin personal name Amator, from amator, amatoris, "that loves, lover". The name was used among the early Christians symbolically ("one who loves God").The Occitan form is Amador (pronounced [ama'du]) and sometimes it is misspelled *Amadour or *Amadou, because of the French influence.Lumia
