It is not "sue", the "i" is pronounced as "ee".
it should be spelt "Xiou" rather. There is an "o" sound ... it sounds like "Leo" in a way (but pronounced faster in one syllable).
The X sound is supposed to be a very soft "s" like in "magic", at least that's an example my teacher told me
