other than pearl what does my name represent----I am German and Slovenian----I have hated my name for many years---now I like it cuz it is unique----I am now working with a Hansel______HA! HA! thanks

Hi Greta,

There are no other meanings for Greta than pearl because Greta is a German and Scandinavian short form for Margareta, which means pearl.

Greta has been quite old fashioned in Germany but is getting more and more popular again.

I have seen the name listed as Greek, and meaning a child of light.
