Emira and Ismeta are female forms of male names. Look for their meanings (Emir, Ismet).
Jasna is not Bosnian name only. It is Slavic name and means "Clear". Serbs use this name also.
Nadja is not Bosnian name at all. It is Russian. Serbo-Croatian version is Nada and means "Hope".
Danijela is not Bosnian name at all. It is an adaptation of Daniela, an ancient Hebrew name.

About Nadja.... Among Muslims in Russia, for example Tatars, there is a name - Nadija - which is similar to the Russian name Nadja (full form: Nadezhda = "Hope") but really is a different name. Nadija by origin is Arabic and means "announcement."

I think it's a feminine form of Nihad (Arabic name by origin) which I think means "height."

Thank you for the possible meaning behind the name Jasna, Jordan. I first heard this name on the show "ER" about a year ago and it instantly became one of my favorite femenine names. Is it very common in Croatia and Bosnia?

Emira (also spelled Amira) - "princess" (Arabic); "worthy of merit" (Latin)

Ismeta - Maybe a variant of Ismat?

Jasna - possibly means "bright"

Nadja - "hope"

Danijela - Probably a form of Daniela.

There are a number of Bosnian people at my friend's workplace, and I was curious about the meanings and pronunciation of a few of their names. Could you help me out please Jordan?

Stapgo (?) - this is what everyone calls him.

Armir, or Armer - not sure, sounds like r-mirr when sounded out.

Cekic (a last name)

Amula (?) a female name

And does the word koka, or coca, mean anything to you? That is one of the guy's nicknames.

Hi,
Cekic is a turkish word.it means hammer in "turkish".But its written with turkish alphabet like "çekiç" (c with dots) its pronouncation is like "che-kee-ch" :)

and ismet is arabic name in turkish.it means chaste or virtous one.maybe ismata is the female version of it.
