I think I remember being told that the two pronunciations are used, depending on whether there is an accent on the last 'i' (I can't type the accent on my computer!).
Can anyone confirm this for me? I love the 'dreamy' sound of "Ashleen" (fitting the meaning), but find "Ashlyn" a little too sharp and trendy. Have I just invented "Ashleen"?!

My names is Ashleen so unfortunately you did not make it up haha my family spelled and sounded it that way phonetically based off of the Irish name Aisling.

Aislín is pronounced ash-LEEN. There is an Irish actress named Aislín McGuckin.

My guess would be that Aislín is just a variant of Aislin. An -ín ending is a feminine or diminutive form. I don't think it would be strictly a diminutive form because then it would have to be Aislinín or something.

In irish if the dot of the i is like an apostophe it is pronounced 'ee' as in the proper pronunciation of Caitlín. As far as I'm aware, Aislin is properly pronounced ashlin as it is not spelt with í.
