Old Norse masculine name Vinandr.
I came across this name when I was looking up the etymology of the name of a lake in Great Britain, namely Lake Windermere. See the Wikipedia entry:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windermere_(lake)Now, I find myself wondering about the etymology of Vinandr, because I quite like it. Is there any chance that it could be related to the Germanic name Winand (which is featured in the Submitted Names Database)?Thank you for any information that you can provide me with. :)
