Please can anyone help out?
I have been searching in my spare time for weeks to find the meaning of the male name Grayson. I have found variations of this name, but nothing on the actual meaning. THank you!

I'm citing two, separate reference sources for you, Sarah :**************************************************************
From *New Dictionary of American Family Names* by Elsdon C. Smith:GRAYSON (English) The son of Greve (earl), or of the grave. See Graves.GRAVES, GREAVES (English) Descendant of the grave, a minor official appointed by the lord of the manor to supervise his tenants' work; dweller in, or near, a grove.
****************************************************************From *A Dictionary of Surnames* by Hanks & Hodges:"Grayson" is a patronymic of GRAVE: English, occupational name from Middle English *greyve* "steward".
*****************************************************************So two reference sources appear to be in agreement that the name "Grayson" means "son of the minor official" who supervised the tenants' work for the lord of the manor.-- Nanaea
