My wife's given name is Fayne. The family story is that when my wife's maternal grandparents were seeking a name for their daughter, the grandfather selected Fayne as the middle name on the basis of the exemplary character of the heroine Fayne in
a story he was reading. My wife was given her mother's middle name as her own first name.

We have searched unsuccessfully for the story that started it all. We are collecting interesting occurrences of the name Fayne. Recently we acquired a decorative plate from a series dubbed "Lady Fayne".
