I thought you would be pleased to see that your favorite American materialistic name for either gender is moving up in popularity. In 2000, Armani ranked #655 for boys and #765 for girls.

In 1999 Armani was #693 for boys and #858 for girls; in 1998 (the year it hit the Top 1,000 lists) it was #708 for boys and #943 for girls.

The old favorite Material Girls, Mercedes and Tiffany, dropped in ranking. Mercedes was #267 in 1999, and #286 in 2000; Tiffany was #80 in 1999, and #100 in 2000.

And Cristal went slightly up in ranking (as well as in champagne pricing) -- from #497 in 1999 to #492 in 2000.
