Laise is supposed to be Scots Gaelic, according to a list on NameGeeks (a site I've never used before yesterday, which is why I was looking for verification on it).

Thanks for the pronunciation. You wouldn't happen to know if the Scandinavian spelling (Njal) was pronounced the same way, would you? =)
