If you're wondering why you haven't received an answer yet as to the meaning of the name you posted, it's probably because no one here has yet found it for you. So, also, please don't think you're being ignored, either! :)
I'm sure a few people here are working on it. Sorry I don't have an answer for you myself, but I wanted to post this message to you quickly coz I didn't want you thinking you'd posted anything goofy that people were just ignoring. Okay? :)

I am also looking for the meaning and orgin of Mekhi. While searching on the web(teacher.scholastic.com) I came across an interview of Mekhi Phifer in which he was being asked the meaning and orgin of his name, he responded by saying it was an arabic name which had some connection with the spirit of water...how it makes up three quaters of the earth, and about seventy percent of the human body..also how it sustains life, he said "it is a sense of being needed." hope this is of some help I am still looking for more info. on the web about the meaning.
