Subject: The name Xylyss . . .

. . . I discovered this name a while ago, it's the name of a girl in my concert band. I don't know her background but she seems a fairly ordinary Anglo-Saxon Australian girl, about 18 years old.

I'm just wondering whether anyone's heard anything like this before? It's pronounced zy-LEESS.

Thanks!

(ps I know that 'xyl' is the Greek root word for "wood", you don't need to tell me that bit! :-))
