Re: PLEASE HELP!! What Does Vlatko translate to?
I know Vladko is a variant of the Serbian Vladeta (male name) and a quick check with my Russian friend yielded the suggestion to 'check Vladeslav, Vladko would be a diminutive form'.Now, all I know about Slavic names could fit in a thimble so the only direction I can point you in is that the Vlad element means 'rule, power' so it corresponds to elements like the German - ric in Frederick and Eric. If there's a Russian or Serbian group nearby you might ring them up and see if anyone there can help you with the more detailed elements or look for specific language boards (for instance, if he's from Serbia look for Serbian language communities online and present your query *once* LOL to them.In the short term, use the search engine here to look for English names that mean 'prince' or 'power/ful' or 'rule/r' and see what stands out to you.Personally, I'd call him nothing but Vlad....it's sexy ;o)Devon
