Ortolana
This was the name of St. Clare of Assisi's mother. Anyone know what it means? TIA.

My Italian name dictionary (Santi e Fanti by Enzo La Stella T.)
says that Ortolano is a "humble name of transparent meaning." I took that to mean that ortolano must be a common Italian word, and putting that into Google's translation function you get "gardener". So it seems probable that Ortolana is the feminine form of a name that meant "gardener".

Thanks. I thought it might have something to do with gardens.
