I have saw this name used as a first and/or last name in some Islamic writings. I have even seen it (in it's exact spelling) as the name of an old South Indian rice dish. Does anyone have any backgroung on the name "Saddi", its origin, background, usage or meaning?

I have known it to be a NN for Asaddiya - a feminine form of Asad.

I am not sure of the meaning of this name...It seems Arabic and I have even saw it mentioned in sounthern Indian referring to an ancient rice dish.
