Not sure if this is the info you want at all, but in Sweden Ella has been used from 1500 something, originally though as a shorter form of various names, such as
Gabriella
Elisabet
Elin ( derived from Helena)
also NN for Edla (originally Edela ) meaning honorable

You may add: "pistachio tree" in Hebrew. But in both cases (goddess and pistachio) the double L doesn't make any sense in Hebrew. There are double consonants in Hebrew, but both words would simply be transcribed as "ela".
