Re: family history
A quick googling turned up this:
http://www.scaruffi.com/politics/holy.htmlIf the site is reliable (which I did not investigate), the indications jibe with my original thoughts: the long, slow dissolution of the Roman Empire into the Holy Roman Empire slowly opened up into many small kingdoms, including the future-Spanish Pamplona y Navarra, Castilla & Aragonia.Certainly, "those who would be king" of Navarra must have some good bit of traceable ancestry before their title was so taken, otherwise they would not have had the influence to do so. It should not be difficult to search further.
