I am of full Indian descent, and I've got my my grandmother here, so she might be able to help you.Suresh is one of the many name for the sun, or GOD manifested as the sun. SUR- is a prefix that often means sun, as in Surya.Suresh is is pronounced soo-RAYSH.

Follow the Suresh link in your own post and you will see that what you assert is not true.
Suresh is actually a name of Lord Indra. It means 'Lord of the Suras'. Suras are (a type of) gods. Indra conquered the gods and became their Lord.
Indra is normally called a 'Storm-god'. One of his famous exploits was stealing a wheel from the chariot of the Sun-god. This proves he is not himself the Sun-god.
