Kai
I was watching some TLC baby show and the baby was named Kai. Their reason - because it means "beautiful" in Hawaiian? Were they completely wrong?o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o

Shouldn't this be on the opinions board? But anyway...Yes 'cause in Hawaiian it means "the sea" and I find it weird that Kai is a "person" name because in maori it means food. Who would name their kid food?

Kai is also a Scandinavian and Finnish nameKai or Kaj, maybe from the Roman Caius. But the meaning "food" is not relevant, as nobody speaks maori here. Besides, many people only care about the sound of the name, not the meaning."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

Yeah maori is only spoken in NZ and I'm guessing no-one (well nearly no-one) speaks it as their first language. Yeah I don't care about the meanings of names but it's just when I hear Kai I automatically think of food lol.
