According to ancestry.com, Wedgeworth is English, either a variant of Wedgewood (a habitational name from Wedgwood in Staffordshire) or a habitational name from a lost or unidentified place. This means your Wedgeworth ancestors had the name because they lived in (or were from) Wedgwood, Staffordshire, England, or another place in England named Wedgeworth that no longer exists.

Sorry about the Wedgieworth thing. I think you have a cool last name, if it helps any. ;)
