There seems to be a theory that Ruslan was derived from the Tatar/Turkic name Arslan, which means "lion". See e.g. here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Untifler/Tatar_nameI tried to find a link between Ruslan and Ruswan, but nothing turned up. The similarity may be pure coincidence, without a common origin of those two names.

Yes, of course...Can someone find this name ("Ruswan") (another)? Looks like there is so many people at Indonesian that use these names, maybe Java language (Bahasa Jawa) .

Sorry I don't have any direct links for you, but if you can figure out the linguistic origin of the name, you might find the etymological meanings of the individual syllables in that language (like ander/aner meaning "man" in Greek). The site etymonline.com is a favorite of mine for English words. Because in many cultures, names come from words, I suggest not limiting yourself to name websites/searches but rather expanding to sites with etymological origins of all words. Hope that helps!
