Chinese names/surnames... Help with...
I was trying to name a Chinese female so I gathered these names from anime (Shoko Saeba and Shunrei are my favourite chinse girls in anime, Lin Minmei and Huang Pao-Lin are excellent chinese girls):Lin Minmei
Shunrei
Huang Pao-Lin
Shôko SaebaI decided to combine the names in the following way:Min Huang Shouko ReiI investigated and it seems Min-Huang is a surname... Anyone knows?Shouko is a Japanese name I think... Anyone knows what it means? So I can use a Chinese equivalent... (I have a good online chinese-english dictionary)As for Rei... It is a Chinese name? Isn't it? Is it male or female? I think and hope its female...

Shouko is spelt 翔子 in Japanese I think... From what I got... so the "ko" is "girl" but I cannot get a translation for the "shou"

I found out that 翔子 can also be spelt Sachiko, Hiroko, Youko or Shoushi when transliterated but I couldn't find the name Shoushi in the database, for all the others I found that 翔 could be happiness, abundant, sun or sunlight

I think "Min Huang" means "yellow people", yellow is a colour associated with high class, elegance, nobility and royalty in China but "yellow people" is a slur for "Chinese" so I am prefering "Min Feng" which would be "Chicken people" (FengHuang is the Chinese phoenix) and a reference to people that breed chickens... A better surname, don't ya think?
